Nathalie Feitsch is enthusiastic about archives and libraries.

She is studying for a Master's degree in Business Process Engineering & Management at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland  at the moment.

After graduating from high school, Nathalie had the aim to learn and earn money at the same time. "I found out about the archive, library and information assistant training and completed it at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna," she explains. In addition to works of art, files, literature and photos are also archived there, which makes the job so exciting and varied that Nathalie Feitsch is still working there after almost 15 years. The highlights of her day-to-day work include her many trips abroad, during which she accompanied works of art on loan to exhibition venues all over the world. From New York to Stockholm and Venice to Utsunomiya, Japan.

In her search for higher qualifications in her field, she found what she was looking for at the FH Burgenland's Bachelor's degree programme in Information, Media & Communication. The course offers the opportunity to specialise in library management. The database-related content in particular provided her with important knowldge for her job.

She soon realised that she also wanted to do a Master's degree. She opted for the part-time Business Process Engineering & Management degree programme. Nathalie serves as an example of how this programme is also accessible to people with a less economic or technical background.

My expectation was that I would be able to expand my entrepreneurial thinking during my studies and learn to better understand, design and optimise processes. This has definitely proved to be the case so far. The courses complement each other perfectly and the quality of the lecturers is excellent.

In her Master's thesis, she is focussing on the topic of agility and library management in order to contribute to the further development of her professional field. She is also active in the abiLehre association, which she and other colleagues initiated to promote the next generation of archive, library and information assistants.
