Completion of at least three years of study at a recognized domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution (bachelor's, diploma and master's degree courses at universities of applied sciences and universities, doctoral studies), as well as professional experience in the health and social care sector, depending on the specialization, specific proven knowledge from the tertiary sector.

Registration and admission

The University of Applied Sciences Master's degree program in Health Promotion and Human Resource Management accepts 24 applicants each year.

Application deadline: May 31 (a first part of the study places will be allocated from March 31 for better planning, a second part after May 31) - you can currently see HERE whether it is still possible to apply after this date.

Application
Applications received within the specified deadline will be considered in the admission procedure for the coming academic year. Applications are made via the online application form.

The admission procedure consists of a personal interview. Missing knowledge can be made up in the form of study letters with a final examination.

Deposit
After binding acceptance to a study place, the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences collects a deposit of € 350 to secure the study place. This will be refunded to active students at the end of the first semester. If an applicant does not fulfill the admission requirements (e.g. failed Bachelor's examination, etc.), the deposit will also be returned. In all other cases, the deposit is forfeited.

  • Comprehensive and unique combination of the subject areas of health promotion, health research and human resource management
  • Consideration of individual areas of interest with the help of the specialization modules "Health Promotion/Health Research" and "Human Resource Management"
  • Possibility of acquiring additional qualifications in the form of certifications (risk manager for health promotion/health research or personnel management in cooperation with Austrian Standards, safety officer, project manager, occupational health management)
  • Implementation and documentation of a real project during the course of study

Occupational fields

After completing their studies, our graduates can take on health-related tasks in human resources.
Implement projects and programs in the field of health protection, workplace health promotion and reintegration according to the latest scientific findings and test their effectiveness.

Furthermore, our graduates can apply their methodological and professional skills in all health promotion settings (schools, communities, kindergartens, etc.). In addition, graduates can also work in health research or health policy.
