The bachelor's programme trains experts who can drive innovation in the field of digitalisation through their in-depth knowledge of electronics and photonics. The innovative study programme, which is unique in Austria, trains experts for the electrical and electronics industry. This industry currently ranks as the most research-intensive sector in Austria and comes in second in terms of employment.

Sustainability, resource efficiency, digitalization, individualization, urbanization or health and demographics: megatrends and the challenges they respond to also need electronics and photonics.
Electronics deals with the information processing of analog and digital electrical signals using electronic components and circuits, with the control of electrical current or with the conversion of electrical energy.
Photonics is related to the technology of light. Specialists look at the use of light for information and communication, in lighting and displays, but also in life science and health applications.

Electronics and photonics matter in devices for private use (displays) as well as in highly technical industrial machines. In this unique degree program, you will become an expert in this area and open up to one of the largest job markets in the country.

*Full-time:  approximately 15 weeks per semester, usually Tuesday through Friday; physical presence with many additional offers.

**Part-time:  over a period of approximately 22 weeks, with on-campus courses (every two weeks, on average): usually Friday from 2:00 p.m.--9:45 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m.--6:30 p.m., with an additional two physical presence blocks per semester (Thursday - Saturday, from 8:30 a.m.—7:30 p.m.). 

***Extended Part-Time:  a program which has an additional two semesters in order to lighten each semester course load.

vocational matriculation examination, preparatory course with an accreditation
exam.
