Information and Communication Technology and Information Management

The degree programmes within this core competence provide practical and future oriented training for students wishing to become ICT and knowledge experts.The scope of this key area ranges from ICT to the organisation of information and knowledge.The campus’s location next to the Technology Centre in Eisenstadt guarantees that practical experience can easily be acquired. Both fields of study are unique in Austria because of their special focus – namely, the convergence of various technologies to the internet of the future in the ICT degree courses and, in the field of information management, the combination of courses in social science with extensive practical training.

Information Management – Bachelor´s Degree

“Becoming an information professional”
This is Austria´s only course for internationally oriented information professionals: information searching, structuring, and distribution of information and communication technology with a strong focus on project management. What makes this course particularly attractive is the individual choice of modules and their application in online journalism, librarianship, multi-media documentation, information research and business information management, together with the possibility to study abroad.

Internet Technologies - Bachelor´s Degree

“Technologies of the future”
The focus of the course is on the internet technologies of tomorrow. The course combines software development for internet applications, network security and administration, multimedia and web-design together with the acquisition of management competence and foreign languages. Students can acquire practical experience with projects done in cooperation with companies situated in the nearby Information and Technology Centre.

Applied Knowledge Management - Master´s Degree

“Knowledge Management – eLearning – eCommunication”
The course focuses on knowledge management, eLearning, eCommunication and knowledge organisation, and is designed to complement a range of undergraduate study programmes. After completion of the course, students will be able to undertake more demanding tasks, projects and management roles within their existing professions.

Architecture and IT Project Management for web-based and mobile business solutions, technical and organisational implementation of projects on the development of applications and services in the field of internet and mobile networks, Internet Solution Architecture and web business solution management.

IT Security * - Master´s Degree

* Subject to authorisation by the University of Applied Sciences Council (Fachhochschulrat).
Secure information processing within a business, secure design for networked Content Distribution Networks (media sector), Security Management for Network protection and intranet security in large corporations, Digital Rights Management in data commerce, security concepts in the eGovernment sector for processing sensitive data, security consulting.
