In line with the newly re-structured European higher educational framework, students can select either Bachelor
or Master courses. The 3 year undergraduate bachelor degree programmes can be undertaken after completion
of “A” levels or their equivalent (Matura, Arbitur etc.). Graduates and other qualified academics can specialize
further by continuing their studies in the 2-year Master’s degree programmes.
Burgenland´s location in Europe makes it ideal for intercultural education in Central and Eastern Europe. The
cross-border network of the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland cooperates with 65 partner higher education
institutes and 400 businesses partners throughout Europe.
Bachelor’s and Master’s Study Programmes
The Bologna Process aims to create an integrated higher
education area by 2010. The new EU-wide course architecture
comprises two academic levels: the first leading to
a Bachelor’s degree (after 3 years); the second to a Master’s
(after two years).
The Bachelor’s degree offers a foundation level of higher
education and concludes with the first academic title (BA).
Entry requirements are “A” levels or their equivalent
(Matura, Arbitur etc.). For entry onto a Master’s degree
course, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) is required.
Master’s degrees are designed to offer students the
opportunity to become more specialised or go deeper into
their chosen area of study; it concludes after two years with
the academic title Master (MA). A completed Master’s
degree allows graduates to study for a doctorate (PhD) at
university.
Full-time and part-time studies
One third of our students already study part-time.
Blended Learning is a mix of in-class face-to-face teaching
and studying virtually. The in-class phases include
lectures, exchanging experience and project work,
together with coaching. This process is supported by
communicating on a virtual learning platform.
